Scholarship and Financial Assistance


Deserving poor and needy students belonging to various socially and economically weaker sections of the society are helped financially to continue their studies and build career in fields of their interest. The college facilitates the students to avail various scholarships granted by the state and central government.

Students of the college belonging to minority communities are granted post-matric scholarship for minorities by the Ministry of Minority Affairs Govt. of India through the state government.

College facilitates the students belonging to Denotified Nomadic and Semi-Nomadic Tribes (DNTs) like the Gujjar, Bakerwal and Chopan to get scholarship from the Ministry of Tribal Affairs through the District Social Welfare Department. Pahari speaking students are also granted scholarship to popularize higher education among them.

Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities grants financial scholarship to the physically challenged and disable students of the college.

Cash scholarship of Rs 5,000/= each was granted to the five meritorious girl students of the college from the Prime Ministers fund. Department of science and technology also granted merit scholarship to the science students of the college who had qualified higher secondary part two( 10+2) with very good marks.

Every year the college provides financial assistance to poor and needy students out of the Student Aid Fund (Local Fund). Orphan students with no earnings, children with broken families with no economic support , physically challenged students and the students belonging to very poor families are considered for the financial aid. Financial aid is provided to such students for the purpose of purchasing books , payment of college and university dues and other necessities for pursuing education.

The college also acts as a facilitation center for the Prime Ministers Special Scholarship Scheme for the students of Jammu and Kashmir. Through this scheme students of our state have opportunities to get admission in engineering, science and general courses like BCA, BBA etc in prestigious colleges outside the state and are also granted scholarship to meet out tuition fee, hostel fee and purchase books and other study material.

The college aims effective disposal of scholarship applications and delivery of funds directly into beneficiaries account without any leakages.
